Over the Winter period, Birmingham Community Safety Partnership, with its partner agencies, are re-launching a series campaigns to raise awareness around all elements of domestic violence and abuse. This includes “Stand Up Shout Out – Domestic Abuse No Excuse” with a key message to domestic abusers that nobody should tolerate excuses for domestic abuse whether they are friends, family, local communities or local services; the First Night campaign – an opportunity for people to donate items at identified collection points across the City, which shelters can then give to women and children on their first night they leave their homes to seek a place of safety; and Operation Sentinel – a West Midlands Police lead campaign to promote messages to support victims and perpetrators of domestic violence and abuse in where they can seek help and support.
Over the next 24-days, in true ‘advent calendar’ style, we will be bringing you messages each day from key people and organisations across the City to increase awareness and provide information on all aspects of domestic violence and abuse. Please support this campaign by sharing this page with your friends and family (if tweeting, please include the hashtag #SUSOBrum
) and remember to check back check each day for the latest feature.
Please note, the calendar is best viewed with up-to-date web browsers (there are some small errors with Internet Explorer 8) so please update your browser accordingly if you have any trouble viewing the calendar.
